Web Design Internship

Job Description

Reports to: Owner

SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Web Design Intern in Reading, PA. This individual will be responsible for the creative conceptualization and production of Web application user interface designs and multimedia/electronic media products in support of the agency website and the overall interactive marketing strategy of the agency. Through an understanding of user and application requirements, industry research, and a sound understanding of graphic design principles and the creative design process, the Web Designer Intern will help to generate web based products that meet business objectives, branding/positioning strategies, and user needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Superior knowledge of current web-design and electronic media trends and techniques.
Working knowledge of Adobe graphic design applications & Content Management Systems.
Working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS and web authoring tools. Formal training and/or certification a plus.
Experience with implementing, managing, and designing around web site content management systems.
Experience with cross-browser issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.).
Knowledge of any of the following a plus: ASP.NET and PHP.
One or two years of web design experience or equivalent combination or education and experience. Advanced coursework in graphic and web design preferred.
Mature understanding of design principles such as layout, color, typography, and information design
Solid understanding of web production processes and human-computer interaction principles
Knowledge and experience with flash design.
Other duties as assigned.
